I'm getting ready for Indy Cars at Road America on June 22, 23 and 24. So I'm writing this blog a little early because I'll be busy!! It's actually Tuesday June 19th as I do this.
I found some photos of my old friend, Uncle Vinty.
He was like no other musician as you will see. He was unique and loved by everyone because of his costumes and great show. I actually think those are my snow ski goggles he has on! No wonder I don't have them anymore!
Not sure, but I think this is from 1979 at the Blue River Cafe.
Enjoy some photos of my buddy.
Thanks,

I can't believe that I haven't done a blog on my very good friend Uncle Vinty! Vinty performed solo, in the The Uncle Vinty Show and then in his other band called The Movies.
So here we go. Enjoy some photos of Vinty and his bands. I included a few pictures of the one record that I know of that he made.
Some of the photos are from a television show he did on WITI-TV 6 years ago. I think the year was 1975.
One of the photos here is my very first business Christmas card from 1972!
A few of the black and white photos that look cracked are actually called reticulated. It is done as you process the film and then freeze it during the developing process. It's an interesting look that I did frequently in my college days.
Take a look at Vinty. He was a one of a kind!
Please join me on Facebook at Rich Zimmermann Photography and I still have a few 2016 Rock'N Roll calendars left for $30.00 plus $5.00 for shipping. The Rolling Stones from 1975 are on the cover and every month features an artist in his birth month! David Bowie 1974 is January and it finishes up with Ted Nugent from 1981 in December. Every photo is suitable for framing!

It is Easter Sunday as I write my blog today. So I say Happy Easter to you and hope you had a nice day with your families.
The past few weeks around here have been very hard because my father passed away shortly after his 96th birthday. He lived 96 wonderful years and he would have been married to my mother 71 years next week. The love those two have is really something.
Today, we just have one photo of my dad, Carl Zimmermann, and another old friend that we lost several years ago, Uncle Vinty. They are having a glass of champagne in this photo and dressed to the nines!
I hope they are upstairs doing the same thing right now looking down on us all and having a glass of champagne. Miss you guys a lot.
Happy Easter everyone and next week we will get back to normal and get some good blogs going again.
Thanks,
Rich Zimmermann

In 1971, Milwaukee welcomed Mr. Vinton Medbury and his van from California. Uncle Vinty was his stage name and his Dodge van was named the Creampuff! Vinty was a unique performer. He was a musician, a magician, and a clown for all of us grownup kids.
For many years, Uncle Vinty was a one man show living out of his van, traveling all over Wisconsin. He would go back to California now and then but during the 1970's Milwaukee was his home. For a few of those years, he lived with me in Milwaukee and then in Pewaukee, but the Creampuff was really his home. The Creampuff was missing a shower you see, so he needed a break once and a while and he was always welcomed in my home. Besides, Vinty being fun, he was also a great plumber so he was handy to have around.
I believe it was around 1977 when Uncle Vinty, with some help from Micheal Morgan, Peter Barnes, his brother Ted, and a few others, formed "The Movies". It was a big band for Vinty and he was the band leader. Some success was achieved when they made a TV show but Vinty actually never left his one man show. He continued to tour the United States and then moved back to California.
Uncle Vinty is on the great stage in Heaven these days. He died, I think it was in 1994. I miss the old boy, especially last weekend when I needed to call a plumber to fix a faucet.
Enjoy the attached photos of Uncle Vinty and a few of the band "The Movies".
